Holiday Marketing Help from Looly

And how to give ChatGPT the confidence to believe in itself

Hello All!

Never a slow week in AI. We have Custom GPTs launchin from Open AI, reading recommendations from President Obama,

Now, onto this week’s Actionable Advice!

Actionable Advice

This week, our actionable advice is aimed at those of you stressing out over planning your holiday marketing plans.

Introducing your new best friend, the Looly Holiday Helper.

As you may have heard, ChatGPT now enables premium users to create and use their own custom GPT models. In the future, there are plans for these to be offered for sale (a la Apps in Apple’s App Store, say that 3x fast).

Ask the Holiday Helper to design a holiday marketing plan for your business, and it will run you through a Looly-designed diagnostic, then make a whole series of plans and recommendations specifically to fit your business needs and budget.

Now, sadly you do need to be on the $20/month paid plan to access the Holiday Helper (at least for now!), but if you do have access, this should make your late-stage holiday promotion planning a snap.

Try it out and let me know if you have any feedback, or if you have other dreams for a custom GPT that Looly can help with.

News Roundup

There has been a whole lot of news (as usual) in the AI world this week. Here’s some of the most interesting tips and articles I’ve come across recently!

1. AI sometimes need a ‘lil confidence booster, just like us.

If you find yourself asking AI for things and it tells you it can’t, sometimes you can get it to perform the way you want just by asking it to dig deep and try, like if you were encouraging a kid to learn how to ride a bike.

Check out the excellent example below from u/UglyChihuahua on Reddit.

No one really seems to quite know why this works. But it does.

2. Humane launches much-hyped AI wearable

I’m still not ready to have AI attached to my body and listening to me 24/7 but I will say I was quite impressed with the launch video. You can also read TechCrunch’s review below. Will be interesting to see what the user reviews are once it’s really out in the world, though.

3. Obama’s AI Reading List

AI is clearly top-of-mind for our 44th president, who recently released a list of what he’s been reading and listening to with regard to AI. Some great resources on here, particularly with regard to AI’s potential overall impact on society.

Tweet of the Week

If what we’ve seen so far is only “Emerging General AI” according to DeepMind, I am both excited and a little scared to see what “Competent General AI” looks like!

That’s all for this week - as always, feel free to reach out with any feedback by replying to this email!

And of course, it’s always much appreciated if you’d like to forward this newsletter to anyone you think might find this content useful, or share on social, etc.

Finally, if you or someone you know needs a little help getting started with implementing AI for either business or personal use, don’t hesitate to be in touch to see how Looly can help!

Cheers,

Caitlin
